Insurance & Fees

I accept Aetna, BCBS, CBHA, Cigna, Medcost, Optum, and United Health Care insurances for South Carolina.

I accept Cigna, Optum, and United Health Care insurances for Florida.

If you choose to use insurance, please check with your insurance company regarding your Mental Health Coverage, Deductible, and Co-pays. Every insurance company offers different plans and each plan varies in regards to Mental Health Benefits. I do my best to find out your coverage and benefits, however, clients are solely responsible for understanding and abiding by their Mental Health Coverage and Benefits. Client is responsible for Co-pays and service charges at the time of service. Every effort is made to collect insurance payments for services rendered: however, the client is solely responsible for service charges and any payments insurance companies do not pay.

If I do not accept your insurance, I can provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for “out-of-network” benefits. Please check with your insurance company about your out-of-network benefits.

Here are some helpful questions to ask when calling your insurance about coverage for counseling/therapy services:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the co-pay/coinsurance for a session?

  • Does my plan cover family sessions and/or family without the client sessions (parent sessions)?

  • Does my plan allow for telehealth sessions?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Initial appointment – $150 (self-pay)

During an intake appointment I will gather information about your current reason for coming to therapy along with your history and background. We will also discuss your goals for therapy. Teenagers must have an adult attend the initial appointment.

50 minute session – $120 (self-pay)

During a 50 minute session we can discuss current issues or concerns that have come up. I will also teach strategies or skills related to your specific problems. Past experiences, thoughts, behavior patterns, and feelings may also be discussed.

Parent session – $120 (self-pay)

When working with teenagers it is important to involve parents. In a parent session, we can discuss specific concerns about your child in addition to learning how to communicate and interact with your child effectively. I also provide education about your child’s diagnoses.
